NWW expands Proofpoints international team with key hires
NORTHERN EUROPEAN SALES DIRECTOR – Spencer Berry
Spencer Berry
Spencer has joined us from Symantec / Messagelabs and will be based in our UK office running our UK, Ireland, Benelux, Nordic, Middle East and Africa operations. Our existing UK based Sales and SE team will report to Spencer and he will also run our UK based EMEA BDR function. Most recently he was at Messagelabs for almost 6 years where he was personally responsible for the largest Global Accounts and managing the UK enterprise account team of 5 senior sales people. His personal sales quota grew from $4 million to $8 million and his team never missed their target, which is currently at $25 million. Prior to joining Messagelabs, Spencer ran major accounts in the financial sector for Cisco having previously established their Sales Operations function in the UK. Spencer holds a BA in Corporate Finance with honors from the University of Westminster, as well as being a certified Chartered Management Accountant.
Messagelabs is the dominant SaaS competitor in the UK and I am very excited to have Spencer join the team as we drive to replace them in the NEMEA Enterprise market.

Mark Sparshott
Mark joined us from Google / Postini and was the #1 employee of Postini when they first entered the European market 4 years ago. Mark brings a very international perspective to our team having spent most of the last 12 years covering the EMEA region for Imperva, NetIQ and PentaSafe in addition to Postini. Most recently he led the teams that secured Postini’s largest global archiving contract and largest global strategic alliance. Back pre-Google acquisition, Mark played an instrumental leadership role as Postini revenues grew from $0 when he started to $17 Million by the time Postini was acquired by Google in September 2007. Mark has a BA Hons from the University of Portsmouth and started his career as an AS400 Technical Specialist with IBM.
